Real Madrid's Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, and Ronaldo Nazario have attended a promotional event entitled Real Madrid-China Summit, which was held at the Kerry Hotel in Beijing. The event, which was also attended by José Ángel Sánchez, the club's general director, and Wu Youwen, head of Real Madrid's offices in the Asian country generated real expectation and commanded widespread national and international press coverage, with the presence of 50 media outlets.
In his speech, Emilio Butragueño said: “We're very pleased to be here. China means a great deal to us, we've played here many times and felt the warmth of the Chinese fans. Almost one hundred million follow Real Madrid, they are extremely committed to the club and it's a hugely significant figure, so it's only logical that we must forge an increasingly fluid, rich relationship with them":

The club's director general, José Ángel Sánchez, underlined Real Madrid's figures from a corporate point of view, with an operating revenue of some 675 million euros last year, as well as 600 million fans around the world, 44% of whom live in Asia.
